On the surface, this looks like the USSF has finally stopped feuding with the women. Thing is, part of that is the women- and I hate to say this- accepting "their place" in the matter.
The women wanted equity with the men. Problem is, despite all the hype, they don't usually have qualifiers that sell out stadia like Columbus, much less Salt Lake. They don't generate enough revenue to merit the animosity generated in previous discussions... they only seem to generate revenue for FIFA (World Cup sellouts) and the Olympics.
OTOH, 2 World Cups, 2 Olympic Golds (and a silver)... doesn't that merit something more than this? After all, the equity discussion happens because WE tend to choose which games we go to.
