There could be a change this season from other seasons as what games will count for the Cascadia Cup. It has been said that Vancouver, Seattle and Portland would only meet each other 3 times this season and not four as in seasons past. One way to do it is to count 1 home match for each Team. It would bring more importance to these matches. Each cities supporters base would pick which game would count. In some cases it would not matter if you play the team only once at home. If you counted each match played it would give a team unfair advantage in Cup play. We shall see what the schedule brings.

SCOOP! The change will be made known tomorrow, and guess what? Seattle only visits the Timbers ONCE in 2007! It breaks down like this: PDX at Seattle twice, at Vancouver once Seattle at Vancouver twice, PDX once Vancouver at PDX twice, Seattle once So what do we do now?

That is a very good question! I am sure there will be lots of talk about this. Here is one idea. Count just one home and one away game with each club. If the home team playes the team more then onces at home they choose which game counts. With Seattle at Portland just once that would be a Cascadia Cup match, however Seattle will pick which game will count when Portland plays in Seattle. So it will be interesting to see what games the fans think should be Cascadia Cup matches.

I nominate Kurt's plan. There's two basic options IMO:
(1) Take the first of the visits when 2nd visits will take place:
April 21: Seattle @ Vancouver May 5: Portland @ Seattle May 11: Seattle @ Portland May 12: Vancouver @ Seattle July 19: Vancouver @ Portland September 9: Portland @ Vancouver
(2) Take the last:
May 11: Seattle @ Portland May 12: Vancouver @ Seattle July 27: Seattle @ Vancouver August 1: Portland @ Seattle August 11: Vancouver @ Portland September 9: Portland @ Vancouver
I tend towards (1) because playoff races should take precedence near the end of the year, never mind the last game at Vancouver is the last game of the league regular season.
