Another idea is start a new derby cup and retire the Cascadia Cup. Back in 1975 the Whitecaps and Timbers played for the Victoria Cup. I only saw that happen in 1975. Maybe this is something the fans from both clubs can start up as their own derby cup.

I also want to suggest that the Seattle MLS Franchise be called Cascadia United or Cascadia FC. The Seattle Sounders would stay in the metropolitan area, either Tacoma or Olypia. Check out my petition at www.ipetitions.com/petition/CascadiaUnited/. Sorry. I do not support the Seahawks or Mariners so why would I support the MLS team? I am sure you will find a few that will follow the new MLS team but they are not loyal soccer fans of Portland. Loyal or true soccer fans do not ignore their local team.
