Is this the same Portland team we saw take it to Seattle 2-0? Too many ties due to a lack off goals being scored. There is little doubt that the teams back line is one of the best in the league but it takes more then this to win it all. Off season the Timbers went after players who can put it into the net. It has paid off in some games but this team seems to struggle in their passing game in the center of the pitch. What happened to Gregor's game? It seems he has lost his form that the team depends on. Which leaves us with who can step up in the center of the pitch? I find the defensive minded midfield has hurt the overall play of the team. Last night against Vancouver it showed. You need someone to serve the front line and the Timber's don't seem to have this this season. The long ball does not work and to be a stronger team you need to beef up the center. So who will step up in the center of the pitch? I do not see anyone on this team doing this. Until Gregor gets back in his groove and the other players in the center become more offensive minded the team will continue to struggle. Gavin knows the game and having a strong defensive team but can he turn this team to be an offensive power? Let's hope this is just a slump and the team will go back to it's winning form.
