I was honoured to be among the 15,376 fans at the PGE which I understand was the largest crowd for 5 seasons.
Thanks for making us all so welcome, we were pleased that we called into the Bullpen on Friday afternoon where the manageress made us so welcome and invited us back on the night time when we brought a group of our friends with us who traded shirts memorabilia etc. Your hospitality was second to none thanks to the person who bought a pitcher of your fine wheat beer for my brother and myself we both run the Jarrow Branch of the Sunderland Supporters Association tho us locals call it JARRA as that is how it is pronounced, no doubt you all saw our flag at the Bullpen and at the PGE Stadium.
It was a shame that our team Sunderland did not perform as well as our two sets of fans, I think in the end both sets of fans were happy with a draw as it was a fitting result in that the fans got on so well together it would be sad that one might be a loser on the night. I’m sure a lifelong bond between the two sets of supporters has been firmly made. I’ve heard that some of your fans intend visiting our Stadium of Light sometime I’m sure they will be made most welcome as Secretary of The SAFC Branch Liaison Committee I will endeavour to obtain some tickets for any of your fans who intend to visit us.
If any of your fans would like to obtain Sunderland AFC shirts I could possibly obtain some of the shirts our fans were currently wearing for about $20 I noticed there were some on sale at your ground for $80. Sunderland are bringing out a new strip for the forthcoming season I would think these will cost in the region of $60 again I would gladly arrange to get some shipped over to any of your great fans who may well like to adopt Sunderland as their second team.
Thanks again and HAWAY THE LADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
