After 3 matches you are beginning to see what the team looks like. Last night was the first time we have seen some of the players play. These are the guys that I would start based on who we have signed so far.
Keeper: This is easy. Steve Cronin has been solid every time I have seen him play.
Back line you have to go with Scot Thompson on the right, Knowles, Cameron in the middle with Stephen Keel on the left David Hayes.
Midfield: The right side I like Nemo with his speed. The D-mid Tony McManus is by far the best and could play attacking mid as well. The best attacking mid is Johan Claesson with his speed and passing (Many call him Tommy). On the left mid Ryan Pore.
The front Line striker should be Mandjou Keita with George Josten. I pick Josten because of his speed and you need someone like that up front to be the garbage collector to clean up for the easy goals.
Why do I not have Taka starting? Taka is too easy to knock off the ball, is not a striker and does not have the speed to get garbage goals. Taka can play on the else where but why would you take someone else off the pitch with better skills.
Do we have too much talent? Yes, but not where we need it on our forward line. Takuro Nishimura is one of the best players that we still have not signed but where are you going to play him with a packed defense and midfield? The Timbers should find a place for him even if it means letting someone else go.
Players who should see less playing time? Higgins, Tommy and Taka. I am not sold on Jallow as he is a bit slow and not strong in the box for a forward.
Let the games begin!
